When a person’s life is at stake nothing can be, and nothing is ruled out.
How can a country or a nation be an exemption from this universally accepted rule?
It has always been quite fashionable to state that ‘the crisis that the nation is facing now has never been faced before.”
But today this fashionable statement may well be the truth of the truths.
Even though the propaganda machinery of the government (run, on the one hand and at one scale by the ailing’ and the crises-ridden Prime Minister’s daughter, and on the other hand, and at other scale by Mr Pervez Rasheed and his team) continues to talk about the PM and the COAS being on one page— also about an NRO having been reached to resolve the ‘issues on ‘live-and-let-live’ basis— all the circumstantial evidence leads us all to quite the opposite conclusion.
The country is being run by various parallel governments. And it has fallen on the shoulders of General Raheel Sharif to ensure that our national interests are not torpedoed by the shadowy forces surrounding our prime minister.
There are moves to applaud General Raheel Sharif’s noble desire to go into retirement at the scheduled time, but this ‘move’ is motored by sinister motives. The ‘axis of evil’ at the top in our political hierarchy is waiting for November 2016 to arrive as rapidly as it can, so that the forces of chaos and corruption can see the back of General Raheel Sharif as early as possible.
For General Raheel Sharif to fulfill this desire of the said forces will be an act of disservice to the nation.
