Bodies are falling at the drop of a hat or rather in the new wave of Indian brutalities in Indian Occupied Kashmir with the martyrdom of Burhan Wani on Friday. Burhan Wani was a 22 year old leader of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and he was killed during a gun battle with the Indian Forces. He was a great voice for freedom of Indian Occupied Kashmir. His planned killing has triggered protests through-out the valley. It has been five days of deadly clashes between the devilish Indian Occupational Forces and unarmed demonstrators angered by the killing of their popular young leader.
At least 35 Kashmiris have now been killed in cold blood, during protests as Indian Forces have fired live ammunition and tear gas to try to enforce a curfew across the Kashmir Valley. With hundreds of people been injured all the hospitals are swamped with this calamity. However the callous insensitivity of International Community is encouraging India to cross all limits of gross human rights violations. It is not that the International Community is unaware of these atrocities being inflicted on the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), it is rather the vested interest of Western Governments to remain mute just to please India which is just a billion dollar investment for them.
Ambulances continue to deliver more victims to Srinagar’s Siri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital (SMHS) where patients are sometimes forced to share beds. An administrator said staff had been ordered not to speak to the press but in actual wards were crammed with young boys and men, many of whom had suffered serious eye injuries caused by the firing of pellets by Indian troops. A doctor in SMHS said that “Doctors are working in operating theatres round the clock. We have operated on 90 for serious eye injuries since Saturday morning. Most of them have lost their eyesight in one eye. They are going to work out of the hospital as one-eyed boys. A young boy claimed telling a correspondent that he had been injured when paramilitary troops opened fire towards him and a group of his friends with pellet guns as they walked out of a mosque in Srinagar on Friday evening. “I can’t see anything now,” the boy cried as he wiped away tears that dripped out of his bandaged eyes.
The death toll continues to rise and God knows how many Kashmiris will lose their lives at the hands of the Indian Forces. India however instead of accepting the existing reality has started pointing fingers towards Pakistan. This terrible and heinous massacre of Muslim populace of IOK is continuing since seven decades without any break. Pakistan has no hand in this, they have their own problems to suffer. Indians trying to implicate Pakistan is just a reflex action on their usual sly part.
They always try to deceive the International Community on Kashmir issue and try to shift the blame to Pakistan. Pakistan have obviously condemned the killings of Kashmiris leader Burhan Wani and other innocent citizens in the Indian held territory, terming the actions of the Indian forces as deplorable.
“Such acts are a violation of fundamental human rights of Kashmiris and cannot deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand for the realization of the right to self-determination” read a statement issued by the Foreign Office. Pakistan also raised questions over the detention of Kashmiri leadership, calling upon the Indian government to fulfill human rights obligation and commitment under the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also expressed shock over the killings. “It is deplorable that excessive and unlawful force was used against the civilians who were protesting against the civilians who were protesting against the killing of Burhan Wani,” he said in statement. On his return from London he has called an all cabinet meeting to discuss the situation in Kashmir. Let us see what outcome is derived from this meeting. Will the Prime minister be brave enough to voice his opinions to the Modi government directly or will be able to raise this issue internationally to any effect. It is sad to note that even the fate of Larry the 10 Downing Street cat is thoroughly discussed on BBC while no mention of the genocide of innocent Kashmiris merits any discussion orconcern. These double standards boil the blood of Muslims all over the world. Balochistan is showing solidarity with Kashmiris on 14th July 2016. Huge rallies in all parts of Balochistan are being planned to demonstrate unity with Kashmiris against crimes committed by India in Indian Held Kashmir. Youth including universities, colleges and schools would be mobilized with civil society. Local leaders will address the rallies to give a clear message of support to the Kashmiris.
The whole of Paksiatn back Balochistan in their effort to show solidarity with the Kashmiris. Omar Abdullah, a former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmirtweeted on Friday that Wani’s” ability to recruit in to militancy from the grave will far out strip anything he could have done on social media” . So be warned that his death would only increase the appeal of violent secessionists.
