It is back to square one.
The Prime Minister is again unwell enough to refrain from a hazardous journey from Jati Umra to Islamabad. Doctors have advised him to wait for reasonable recovery from fever caused by infection in his leg. Ever since the phrase Panama Leaks hit the headlines the worldover including Pakistan, our Prime Minister’s health has been at peril. At first Chaudhri Nisar announced in early April that the Prime Minister had been working for long with a dangerous heart ailment, but could no longer put his life at peril and needed urgent treatment away from his country.
The Prime Minister flew away to his second home in London but only a routine check-up was enough to prompt him to return to Pakistan to start a hectic political schedule.
Then came the news that he needed surgery at the very earliest. Thus he rushed back to UK— and subjected himself to a heart operation that till today remains a subject of speculation and mystery. The people had to wait for over five weeks to have their prime minister back amidst them.
Amidst them?
No. Doctors had advised him to confine himself to his Raiwind fort-like palace which alone guaranteed security to his health. He was by now scheduled to be in Islamabad the country’s capital. But he has been hit by ailment yet again.
The country is abuzz with rumours that the Prime Minister is wary of Islamabad because of the Capital City’s vulnerability to bugging.
The Prime Minister of course has a lot to hide from those whose job is to secure the country’s freedom and frontiers.
But rumours should not be taken seriously. The Prime Minister indeed has to be granted a clean chit of health by his trusted doctors before he can land in Islamabad.
