PESHAWAR, July 19: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak announced a comprehensive package for District Karak that included the construction of a university, establishment of oil refinery at Karak and different schemes in different sectors to eradicate the sense of deprivation of the people of entire district Karak. However, he came hard against the corrupt practices, favouritism and nepotism saying that anything proved illegal against anybody, how influential he might be, would be punished, so that nobody dared any illegal act in future.
He was addressing a 50-member representative delegation of district Karak led by its Nazim Dr.Umar here in the Chief Minister House Tuesday. Prominent leader of JUI Karak Jan Aalam Advocate announced quitting JUI and joining the fold of PTI at the occasion. Provincial Minister for Law Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi, MPAs Gul Sahib Khan, Zareen Zia and District Nazim Peshawar Arbab Aasim were also present at the occasion.
Welcoming Jan Aalam Advocate to the fold of PTI, the Chief Minister said that his government was working on the one-point agenda to provide justice to all and give people an open and transparent governance. His government strengthened public sector institutions, eliminated political interference and made them responsive to the public expectation. He asked to compare his governance to those of the past. His government had a lot of challenges but it brought about reforms in different sectors, prominent among them were Health, Education, Police and Patwar Khana.
The Chief Minister underlined the need of a free corruption system in the province so that the resources could be judiciously used for the public welfare.
The Chief Minister said that he would not rest until a change in the life standard of the poor is not brought about. He called upon the elected representatives and district administration to supplement the government efforts initiated for the public welfare, as his government was accountable to the public and it had been voted by the people to change their destiny
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak along with Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser and Minister Law, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi also condoled with the family the sad demise of former District President PTI Kohat late Muhammad Humayun Chacha, who died the other day.
