CMKPKPervezKhattak2PESHAWAR, September 1: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that the legislators in the tenure of present government made record legislation to bring reforms and discourage negative practices in vogue in our society. The process of reforms and transparency will continue till the total elimination of corrupt practices and forming a society based on justice and equality, he added.
He was presiding over a meeting here in Chief Minister’s House, Peshawar Thursday. Special Assistant to CM on Information, Mushtaq Ghani, MPAs Sardar Muhammad Idrees, Zareen Gul, Secretary Local government, Secretary Law, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Advocate General and others attended.
Chief Minister said “the past tells us about the loot and plunder that became a mindset subordinating pubic interest to their own interest and institutions were used for whimsical decisions. Corrupts are always corrupt and they cannot escape their deeds”, he added. He said it was strange to hear allegations from those who looted the public exchequer and politicized the public sector institutions. He advised them to change their pattern of thinking but may be they don t have the capacity to change. “Pervez Khattak reaffirmed his firm commitment that his government would succeed in stopping this corrupt practices and made legislations to totally eliminate it. He said that transparency in public dealing is a prerequisite to achieve the overall goal of public welfare and national development. His government had already set up a system of accountability that defined the power and responsibilities of all individuals including of the Chief Minister.
Earlier presiding over another meeting the Chief Minister said that his government had devolved power and authority at grass root level and empowered the district government system in real sense. The provincial government had given 33 per cent of the development resources to the district government system, he added.-PR
