There are about 240 entry points along the long Durand Line stretching from South Waziristan up to Bajaur from where the Afghanis can easily enter Pakistan through various means. We are at the moment constructing only 4 effective check posts on this boundary line. One wonders how on earth are we going to effectively check the possible entry of saboteurs under the garb of ordinary Afghan visitors to Pakistan with this skimpy checking system!Isn’t it essential then that top on the list of our priorities should be construction of surveillance pickets throughout the length of the Durand Line on a priority basis which should be manned by the frontier corps?Unless we secure our borders it would be well high impossible to effectively checkmate the intrusion of enemy agents in Pakistan.
Gwadar is a sore in the eyes of our enemies as well as China’s foes. They cannot stomach the gigantic economic prosperity that is going to come to China and Pakistan once this port becomes operational. They are trying their level best to kill this baby before it is born by creating unrest in Pakistan , particularly, in Baluchistan through their paid agents. Small wonder there has been an increase in bomb blasts and other acts of violence here and there in Balochistan, lately, in order to scare away the Chinese who have been doing a great job in completing this project according to schedule. It is good that Beijing can fully see through this game. The government will have to put in place a foolproof checking system along the borders of Baluchistan touching Afghanistan and Iran also as New Delhi has jogged into action the Baloch mavericks for creating law and order situation in the province by funding then heavily.
