  • PM invites Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan

pakchinaflagNEW YORK, September 21: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UNGA here on Wednesday.
The Chinese premier said China hoped that there will be a better understanding of Pakistan’s position on Kashmir by the international community. He added that China attached great importance to Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.
Chinese premier further said his country would stand with Pakistan. “We support Pakistan and will speak for Pakistan at every forum.”
Stating that Pakistan was a victim of terrorism, the Chinese premier hoped the situation between Indian and Pakistan would not escalate. “We are ready to play constructive role in improvement of relations between Pakistan and India,” the Chinese premiere added.
The Chinese premier said China will stand with Pakistan; we support Pakistan and we will speak for Pakistan at every forum.
“We are thankful to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for investing huge resources for the safety and security of Chinese personnel in Pakistan,” Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said.
PM Nawaz said that things are going well in Pak-China Relations, adding that the relationship has entered a different phase.
He thanked China for expressing concern regarding Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
He further said that Pak and China were iron brothers.
Nawaz Sharif is going to address UNGA today, which holds a vital significance in the backdrop of the regional situation.
Pakistan, by means of this address, would convince the world fraternity to support its stance on longstanding regional issues. These include continuing Indian atrocities and rights abuses in occupied Kashmir, fanning of terrorism inside Pakistan, the nexus to disturb the balance of power in the region.
The address would also expose conspiracies hatched by India against Pakistan, for which all eyes would be on the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the UNGA.
Political experts are aware of the significance of this address. They, however, suggest some other steps in addition to it.
Some political figures stress the need to neutralise vicious Indian propaganda in present times.
They are of the view that thought there are difficulties given the recent Pakistan-India tensions and the tilt of world powers towards the neighbouring arch-rival, however, PM’s address with the UNGA is a golden opportunity to rest Pakistan’s case before the world.
On the occasion, the prime minister also extended an invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan.-Agencies
