- Says it is responsibility of international community to stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, September 21: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday to take Suo Moto notice on the notorious scandal of Panama Papers, alarming that without justice a bloody revolt in the country was likely.
Imran Khan took to Twitter and asked state institutions to play their due role and that too maturely in a bid to do a groundbreaking investigation in the scandal. Chairman PTI added that institutions that were supposed to put culprits behind bars must not protect them and their corruption.
Khan said he was expecting a bloody uprising in the country if justice was not provided in the Panama Leaks Case. It is important to mention here that on Tuesday, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) apologised to initiate a probe against the Sharif family for their alleged corruption and against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s children since their names appeared with links to offshore companies in the scandal.
Earlier, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also failed to conduct investigations into the case.
Names of several Pakistanis including Nawaz Sharif’s children Maryam, Hussain, and Hasan surfaced in one of the world’s biggest ever data leaks through an online searchable database made public by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in April 2016, following which the prime minister had formed a judicial commission to probe his family’s alleged links to offshore accounts.
The PTI Chairman is also marching towards Raiwind on September 30 to put a pressure on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his government in this matter.
Menwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said the future of sub-continent is hinged on effective resolution of Kashmir dispute. He said it is responsibility of the international community to stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. He said the loyalties of the people could not be purchased through use of force.
In his statement issued on Twitter, he said restoring abiding peace in the region can ensure poverty alleviation across India and Pakistan.
Kashmir dispute is an issue of self-determination and the right of Kashmiris to self-rule; it is not about chunk of land or territory, the PTI chief highlighted.
Imran Khan also underscored Pakistan should chalk out a far-reaching and comprehensive Kashmir policy, adding, “But, attempts were made to put Kashmir dispute on shelf.”
He also pointed out that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif avoided meeting Hurriyet Conference leaders but he had been showing deep interest in meetings with Indian investors and businessmen to give boost to his family business.
He also urged upon the countries attending 71 session of United Nations General Assembly to keep their promise in connection with Kashmir, adding the UN resolutions passed at Security Council acknowledged the right of Kashmiris to self-determination.
Condemning extreme atrocities against common citizens including women and children by Indian forces in the Occupied Kashmir, the PTI Chairman called upon the international community to take up measures to stop large-scale human rights abuses by India in the valley. -DNA/Sabah
