Kashmiri leaders hail Pakistan for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day on Feb 5

SRINAGAR, February 2: In occupied Kashmir, the leaders of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (Geelani) have expressed immense gratitude to people and government of Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day scheduled on February 5 (Friday).
The APHC (Geelani) leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Yasmeen Raja in their separate statements issued in Srinagar called upon the United Nations, European Union and Organization of Islamic Cooperation to play their role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per Kashmiris’ aspirations. They said that people of Kashmir were particularly grateful to political and military leadership of Pakistan for extending unflinching support to Kashmiris’ freedom movement. They pointed out that the observance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day had center-staged the Kashmir at international level.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (Geelani), Syed Ali Geelani, chiefs of APHC and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in their statements and addresses called for complete shutdown on 9th and 11th February, the martyrdom anniversaries of Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt. Syed Ali Gilani while paying glowing tributes to the two legendary martyrs demanded return of their mortal remains from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail to Kashmir. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq remembering the two martyrs said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute was vital for peace in South Asia. Muhammad Yasin Malik said that these sacrifices had added significance in Kashmir’s history.-KMS
