ISLAMABAD, October 31: Senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday lashed out at the federal government for resorting to teargas shells on a convoy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
“We strongly oppose the governments action to block the entry of Pervez Khattak in Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Aitzaz Ahsan told a private TV Channel..
“This is an assault on the federation of Pakistan. It will cause an irreparable loss to the country,” he said, adding that it was unfortunate that the border area was closed. “If the governemnt wanted to stop protesters, it should have done it inside Punjab,” he suggested. The PPP leader said that his party was fully opposed to any action which could weaken the federation.-Agencies
