Many questions strike a sensitive mind. What was the precise reason behind the recent sojourn of Zardari to Washington? Why did he call over his son also to join him in the US capital? Was this trip arranged to attend the traditional White House Breakfast or was there more to it than meets the eye? Why is the Scotland Yard meting out kid-glove treatment to Altaf Hussain? Don’t the activities of some of our politicians in England and US directly impinge on the law and order situation of this country? Can the visit to Washington of the PPP’s top leadership be without a good reason? Don’t the father and the son want the White House to use its influence with the prime minister of Pakistan for letting off the hook those leaders of their party who are involved in mega scams? Isn’t it a fact that they can only be removed out of harm’s way if the US president pressurise Islamabad? Is Uzair Baloch on his way becoming an approver against top leadership of the PPP including Zulfiqar Mirza? How come the Scotland Yard which makes life difficult even if somebody tries to money launder only a couple of thousands of dollars or pounds should be showing leniency to Altaf Hussain allegedly charged in a money laundering case involving a much bigger amount, besides, living a luxurious life in the costliest city of the world without any known mode of income? Isn’t it a fact that his utility is not yet completely lost on the British intelligence agencies!Answers to these questions might be forthcoming during the next couple of days.

If it goes ahead with its decision there is going to be resultant chaos in the airline industry. If it backtracks it would be cutting a sorry figure before the IMF which was assured by it that it is going to privatise this white elephant.
