ISLAMABAD, November 24:Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said that India is involved in terror financing and targeting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan
He expressed these views in weekly media briefing at Foreign Office on Thursday.
Nafees Zakaria said that India is doing unprovoked firng amnd shelling on LoC and Working Boundary to divert the attention from human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).
He said that after the extra-judicial killing of young Kashmiri leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, on 8 July 2016 and the subsequent blatant human rights violations by India in which around 150 people have been killed, over a thousand blinded, more than 16,000 injured and over 7,000 arrested with no information of their fate in Indian occupied Kashmir.
He said Indian forces around 300 times violated LoC and working boundary in 2016. India breached the ceasefire agreement of 2003. He said that India targeting civilian population and killed 44 civilian and injured around 135 along LoC. But, it’s contrary Pakistan not targeting civilian.
In response to a question, the spokesman said that the DGMO’s Director General of Military
Operations (DGMO) had contacted his Indian counterpart over hotline on Wednesday. In which, he said that targeting civilian population on Loc was not acceptable and deplorable and demanded its stopping.
Zakaria said that Pakistan has taken up the issue of human rights violations of Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) with international community. He said that in Austrian Senate and House of Commons of Britain members raised the human rights violations in Kashmir.
He said that CPEC project not only beneficial for Sino-Pak but also for the different regions. He said through it other regions Central Asia, West Asia and other regions. He said India openly opposing it. Indian arrested spy confess that he and his network trying to sabotage the project.
Zakaria said that Pakistan will participate in the Heart of Asia Conference in India. Conference at aimed to bring peace in Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan given importance to returning peace and stability in Afghanistan.
He said that Pak-Britian relations are rock solid and both countries wants to concentrate on boosting trade and investment.
To a question regarding the raising MQM founder Altaf Hussain issue with Britian, Zakaria said this issue may discussed by Interior Minister, who recently visited UK.
On the British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson response on Kashmir, he said that when he said both countries India and Pakistan have to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue. He said Pakistan always welcomed the offer of dialogue. On banning of the Saudi authorities on trans-genders visiting the holy land, the spokesman said that these are media reports and cant’s comment on it.-Online
