Bilawal has declared that if by 27th of the next month the government didn’t accept his demands in regard to Panama’s leaks the PPP would embark on the go-Nawaz campaign. He is also likely to address a public rally on that day to commemorate death anniversary of his mother. The PPP chairman is to address a public meeting toward the end of this month also to mark the foundation day of the PPP.
Meanwhile Zardari has hinted at his return to Pakistan in a few days time. The timing of his return is meaningful. He is likely to return home when the present Army chief would have retired. There is an age old proverb that one shouldn’t indulge in loose talk. Zardari had,not long ago,in an apparent slip of the tongue, made a sarcastic dig at the establishment by using words to the effect that those who belong to the establishment fade away after retirement while people like him are timeless. Later on he probably realised his folly and decided to stay away from his country for some time till the wounds inflicted by him on the establishment are healed.
POSTSCRIPT: Why the Sindh provincial government has been shilly-shallying in the matter of transferring powers to the mayor of Karachi is beyond me. Is it because it fears that the mayor who belongs to the MQM and who is reported to be a go-getter would upstage PPP in Karachi thus enhancing prospects of the MQM to gain more seats in the next general elections.
Why the hell were local bodies elections held when there was no intention on the part of the provincial government to invest the local bodies with the powers to run the local government?
