BRUSSELS, December 31: The Chairman of Kashmir Council EU, Ali Raza Syed has said that India cannot suppress Kashmiris for a long time.
Ali Raza Syed in a message on New Year, expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
He said, though atrocities of Indian forces have been increased in the year 2016 but sacrifices of the people of Kashmir would not go useless. He said, though the whole year was not different from the previous years but the last six month witnessed huge brutalities against the Kashmir as Indian forces used pellet guns against peaceful people of Kashmir as result a large of people were killed and injured.
However he said that the sacrifices gave power to the people of Kashmir towards their destiny of freedom and extremely encouraged the Kashmiri people to carry on their struggle to achieve right to self-determination and freedom from illegal Indian occupation on Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, and other resistance leaders have strongly condemned the re-arrest of senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, terming it an act of political vengeance.
Syed Ali Geelani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that his apprehension that fate of quashing of the 34th draconian Public Safety Act against Masarrat Aalam Butt would not be different from the previous ones and his re-arrest proved it right.
Hurriyet leaders including Bilal Siddiqui, Farida Bahenji, Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Feroz Ahmad Khan in their statements in Srinagar also denounced the re-arrest of Masarrat Aalam Butt.-KMS
