ISLAMABAD, March 29: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers protested shortage of water in the capital on Wednesday.
During the session of metropolitan corporation, the opposition leader started chanting “metro se pehle paani dou [Give us water before metro]”. The opposition leader also said that there is shortage of water in the country’s capital.
The PTI workers protested in the session which was being chaired by Islamabad mayor. They pointed that situation is so dire that mineral water was being used to clean bodies.
During the session, some members of the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) also seemed to be upset with the mayor and joined PTI in the protest.
PTI leader Asad Umar also criticised interior minister Chaudhry Nisar after they failed to get permission to protest. Nothing will stop us from protesting, he added. -Agencies
