Artifice of journalists to seek asylum abroad

Some Pakistani journalists sought asylum abroad using Pakistani media and social networking for their hate comments. Last year, Twitter had warned to suspend the accounts of so-called journalists Taha Siddiqui and Gull Bokhari who often did bashing of the Pakistan army on the social media networking. Taha Siddiqui already managed to flee to the United States and sought asylum by making false story of attack on him in Islamabad. Pakistani media had reported that his life was in danger in Pakistan and agencies were after him. After that fake attack reports Taha slipped to the US, and now seeks asylum. Taha Siddiqui was Pakistani bureau chief of Indian television channel WION before leaving the country last year and presently living in France. Despite being a Pakistani, he has always used derogatory and insulting language for the country and its armed forces.
He set a stage drama of his abduction just to defame Pakistan and ISI, and told the Guardian “he was travelling on a highway in Rawalpindi on 10th January 2018 when two vehicles blocked his car from the front and back.
Four armed men emerged from each car and three more appeared from nearby, cordoning off the area and then swarming his vehicle. I was being beaten and dragged away and I kept resisting. Then one guy in perfect English said: ‘Stop resisting,’ and then he said: ‘Shoot him in the leg,'” The investigating officer Deputy Director Ashraf Bodla of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), accused of harassing journalist Taha Siddiqui, had informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that he had become irrelevant to the case, as it had been transferred to the cyber crime circle.
Taha linked this drama with the so-called mistreatment of Kulbhushan Jadev’s family during their visit to Pakistan. He recently fabricated a story that he received a call from the U.S. authorities, who told him that they had intelligence about an assassination plot against him like Jamal Khashoggi’s killing. This act certainly is to gain cheap popularity and to defame Pakistan. Taha has been working for France 24 and CS Monitor as well. France 24 is a news and current affairs channel. He had made a controversial documentary on Girl’s awareness in Pak and anti-army documentary, “Swat Valley after Taliban” and both were aired on this channel. This is contrary to the fact that the world community has admitted that Pak Army did a marvelous job in Swat Valley. In fact, this is being taught in the US and elsewhere that how Pakistan could successfully fight terrorism in Swat.
Whereas some unconscionable Pakistani journalists are defaming Pakistan and its armed forces, foreign journalists and writers are all praise for Pakistan army’s efforts in fighting the spectre of terrorism and contributing to stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Adam Garrie has written a treatise captioned “Pakistan Army is a National Umbrella under stormy skies” carried by the media two days ago. He wrote: ” In twenty years time when even the last remnants of terrorism are but a distant memory for Pakistanis; when Gwadar rises to be a shining city of modernity and one of the focal points of both trade and tourism in Asia; when CPEC is a multi-cylinder engine driving prosperity from Lahore to Karachi; and when economic growth becomes consistent and sustainable throughout the country – people throughout Pakistan will know that this much is true i.e. without the protection of one of the most professional, dedicated and patriotic Armies in the world, there would be no such place as Pakistan.”
