ISLAMABAD, January 16: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Wednesday that Sindh is at the brink of political change and he has put the basis for Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s ouster in recent Karachi visit.
Chaudhry in his brief media dismissed the possibility of Governor rule in the province.
The information minister in his brief visit to the metropolis a day before met the senior leadership of coalition partners, including
Grand Democratic Alliance and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan.
Sources privy to the development informed Geo News that the information minister sought support from the alliance in pressuring ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party to change Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah due to his alleged involvement in the money laundering case.
“The change will come with the cooperation of Pakistan Peoples’ Party provincial lawmakers,” he said.
The information minister called the recent grand opposition alliance, ‘an alliance for the restoration of corruption’.
“What happened with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Punjab will soon happen to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party in Sindh,” the minister said.
Chaudhry said that the PPP has an opportunity to change its chief minister, otherwise Prime Minister Imran Khan will take some decisions.
“There is no political future of PPP in urban Sindh. Like Nawaz, Zardari’s political future is about to end soon,” he said.-Agencies
