Under the guidance of Dr. Umair Haroon, ‘The Digital Intelligence Company has’ developed Kashmir Intifada platform and launched the game Kashmir Intifida, to pay tribute to the Kashmiri struggle and resilience, to mark the martyrdom of Burhan Wani and highlight the struggle of freedom fighter Aasia Andrabi. Its aim is also to expose atrocities perpetrated on the Kashmiris by the Indian forces. It shows how the entire valley has been made a torture cell for the Muslims, and that how new breed of women, emerging from years of crisis are both fearless and devoted to the freedom struggle. The role of Ajit Dovel in installing the Islamic State (ISIS) in Kashmir has also been unraveled. Kashmiur Intifada would also provide platform for the consolidation of scattered voices on the brutal Indian occupation of the Kashmir valley.
“In the history of Kashmiri struggle of self-determination, two heroes left an everlasting impact on Kashmiris, Burhan Wani, a digital freedom fighter and Aasia Andrabi, an iron lady who has haunted the tyrants of India. This game is a tribute to both warriors,” stated Umair Haroon, project lead of The Digital Company that developed the game. The game aims to develop an insight into the oppression faced by the unarmed Kashmiris, to raise awareness of the organisations that are struggling for freedom and the ever-increasing Indian brutality in IoK. In different missions, it takes users through various difficult days that Kashmiri youth had to face, starting from the day they decided to support Pakistan to celebrating Eid to the ban on meat on Eid-ul-Azha. The official song takes the audience through different ways that the Kashmiri youth has fought and struggled for their rights and freedom.
The game could be played on smartphone as well as on desktop. Leading writers, intellectuals, writers and celebrities from show business would be participating through blogs, video blogs, articles and messages to express their views on the situation in Kashmir. The ultimate objective of creating digital community is to enlighten people, especially the youth on the Kashmir issue, as the brutalisation of Kashmir continues unabated. It is still occupied by well over half a million Indian soldiers. This is the highest concentration of hostile soldiers per civilian anywhere in the world. The Kashmiris (and the Palestinians) are the most dehumanised peoples under hostile occupation forces anywhere in the world. What most people have failed to register in this entire conundrum is that with the Pulwama attack the strategic environment within Kashmir has undergone a massive paradigm shift. There has been a definite escalation in the rhetoric and belligerence.
A new element has been introduced in the Kashmiri Intifada against the deadly occupation Indian Armed Forces. Suicide bombing has now made its way onto the battlefields of Kashmir, taking the levels of violence in the Kashmir Valley to yet another even deadlier dimension. This time, one of the Kashmiri freedom fighters, Ahmad Adil Dar, a local lad, reportedly carried out the suicide car bombing at Pulwama.
The Kashmiri Intifada has thus demonstrated yet another option now to retaliate against the repressions, tyrannies, horrors, incarcerations, humiliations, tortures, murders, beatings, rapes, arson, intrusive cordon and search operations, blowing up of houses, etc by the occupation forces. Suicide bombings, vehicle-based or otherwise, threaten to become the new normal of attacking the Indian occupation forces henceforth. The Indian Armed Forces, on the other hand, are reportedly now considering using the IAF fighter-bombers to bomb the Kashmiri Intifada into submission. But Kashmiris are unbending and vow to take the struggle to the logical conclusion.
