Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of RSS are resorting to jingoism, which drowns the voices of sanity. Adressing a special session of the Punjab Assembly to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, former prime minister Manmohan Singh expressed the hope that the Kartarpur model might help in resolving future conflicts. He said: “Peace and harmony is the only way forward to ensure a prosperous future. The Kartarpur model may be replicated in future too for a lasting resolution of conflicts”. On the other hand ruling BJP leader Vineet Agarwal Sharda, the BJP leader said that Pakistan and China should be blamed for the high levels of pollution, as either of the two neighboring countries could have released poisonous gases into India, whereas farmers in Punjab and Haryana are burning their crops in this season.
According to Free Press Journal, two Indian soldiers have been taken into custody from the Jodhpur railway station on charges of sharing crucial information with a Pakistan-based woman ISI agent. The officials said that “jawans were sending crucial information after falling in a honey-trap of Pakistani woman. The two accused were taken to Jaipur from Jodhpur where they are being interrogated”. The news can be described a hoax in an attempt to prove to world that Pakistan is working against Indian interests. Though it is a concocted story, yet the message this news conveys does establishes a fact that Pakistan has the capability and capacity to reach deeper layers of Indian civil and military domains to obtain any info.
One Dr. Subhash Kapila, in his article in Oped journal of (SAAG) – a think tank group based in India, which conducts public interest and advocacy work, has alleged that “Pakistan Army is notorious in exterminating duly-elected Pakistani Prime Ministers who politically dare to assert civilian supremacy over Generals. PM Bhutto was executed in 1979 and PM Nawaz Sharif was deposed in a “Judicial Coup” by Army through ISI colluded by Imran Khan to emerge as Prime Minister. Pakistan Army considered Imran Khan would be a compliant not questioning Pakistan Army. Pakistan Army could get away from the contrived execution of late PM Bhutto being Sindhi but ailing Nawaz Sharif hails from Punjab and his Party had ruled Punjab for years with wide political support. This story is hoax; and in fact Indian army is not happy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi
India’s ANI News quoted Asfandyar Wali Khan, chief of ANP while speaking to a local channel, alleged that “Punjabi generals in Pakistan army were found spying for the United States and yet it is the Pashtuns, Sindhis, Balochs and Seraikis who are treated badly. He said, “I assure you that we never engaged in spying against our country. But I am termed as ‘dangerous’ for the country. My father was kept in jail for 25 years who always called for ‘one man one vote’. We were called anti-nationals but we never raised voice against the country.” The Pashtun leader added that a majority of personnel in Pakistan Army come from Punjab whereas only a few get recruited from other provinces. But this is not correct, as Pashtuns make the second largest part of the armed forces.
The Print carried an article from L.t General H.S Panag in which he wrote: “The Army in a recent advisory has asked its personnel to be wary of spiritual gurus and ‘babas’ on social media who can be Pakistani intelligence operatives using fake profiles. Social media has added a new dimension to espionage. And, it is only a matter of time before enemy agents on social media can have access to spyware like Pegasus that opens the door to sensitive information. The Army has even advised its officers holding critical posts to deactivate their Facebook accounts and not use WhatsApp for official communication”. A European NGO (EU Disinfo.lab) has recently unearthed a network of fake news being run from New Delhi stated that India is waging a cyber-war against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan denied any deal with Indian government on Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, who has been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage and terrorism in April 2017. Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Faisal said: “The action on Kulbhushan will be taken as per the law. There will be no deal; absolutely, no question about that”. Earlier, there were reports about an amendment in the Pakistan Army Act to implement the International Court of Justice’s condition to allow Kulbhushan to file an appeal in a civilian court.
