LONDON, March 9: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Wednesday denied rumours regarding deteriorating health of the party chief Altaf Hussain.
In a statement, Nadeem Nusrat, London-based MQM convener, said Altaf Hussain is in good health, terming the rumours ‘lies and baseless’.
“Altaf Hussain is absolutely fine and he is performing his routine private and organizaitional duties and in constant contact with Rabita Committees, and other office bearers,” Nadeem said.
He claimed the rumours are being spread as part of a planned conspiracy against the MQM.
The rumours were rife on social media that the MQM chief was “clinically dead” and that he was put on a ventilator. -NNI
