Pakistan had better tread very cautiously in Iran-America crisis as well as dealing with the Washington-sponsored anti-China propaganda about the so-called excesses being committed on Muslims in China in order to whip up anti-China frenzy among the Muslim world. Statecraft is a very delicate field and a slight mistake on the part of our foreign office in the matter can damage our relations with Muslim countries in the middle East as well with Beijing which we have taken ages to build.
Washington nurses ill feelings against Iran and it might try to woo or pressurise Pakistan for using Balochistan as a launching pad in its overt and covert military operations against Iran. It had in the past used our soil in its covert military operations against presence of Soviet forces in Afghanistan. History should not be allowed to repeat itself again.
It is alleged that Washington has been blowing out of proportions unrest among Muslims in China in order to discredit China in the eyes of Muslim countries in its long term policy to browbeat China politically as well as militarily. Some religious elements in this country have also started making statements in this respect .There is a need on the part of the government to take such element on board so that no misunderstanding is created in the hearts of anybody those who are being accused as well as those making this accusation.
POSTSCRIPT : The country is in a severe financial crises and the need of the hour is that we should at least keep our non-developmental expenditure to the barest minimum. The common man is not happy with the bloated cabinet whether it is in Islamabad or in the provinces.
