India simply cannot tolerate any government in Kabul which does not play second fiddle to it.The Indian policy makers know that any government which comes to power in Afghanistan as a result of success of US- Taliban Accord in place of the present administrative set up in Kabul is not going to dance to their tune and allow them to use their soil for subversive activities inside Pakistan.
New Delhi is also upset over the grown and growing cordiality between the Sikhs and Pakistan over the opening of Kartarpur corridor which has become a sore in the eyes of Indian rulers.
The involvement of the Indian RAW in the recent blast in a Sikh gurdwara in Kabul cannot be ruled out in which more than 20 Sikhs were killed. It has always been the modus operandi of RAW to create misunderstandings in the heart of Sikhs against Pakistan by masterminding such acts and then passing on the buck to Pakistan .Sikhs, however, cannot be misled by such gimmicks as they have over the years come to know the mentality of Hindus.
Time was when over 8000 Sikhs used to live in Afghanistan in places like Kabul, Ghazni and Qandhar. They used to speak Pustho, Panjabi, Hindko, Darri as well as Persian with equal felicity.Their number has dwindled to about 700 now due to unrest in Afghanistan since 1980.
POSTSCRIPT: Let us hope government has made adequate arrangements for Coronavirus test on return to Pakistan of those Afghan refugees who are being allowed to visit Afghanistan for one reason or the other because there isn’t any reliable medical facility for carrying out their tests in Afghanistan.Who knows they might carry this virus on their return to Pakistan?
