Surendar Valasai takes notice of human rights violations in Tharparker and Umerkot

KARACHI, January 10: Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Human Rights SurendarValasai has taken notice of reports in social media about human rights violations, including child labour and forced labour in Brick Kilns of Tharparker, and Umerkot and formed a Fact-Finding Committee to visit and collect details before taking legal actions as per laws. In a statement, SurendarValasai said that violation any human right will not be tolerated and swift actions will be taken against Brick Kiln owners involved in reported violations. He said that initially, the Fact-Finding Committee will conduct inquiries in Tharparker and Umerkot districts. However, such inquiries shall also be held in other districts as well, he added. The Fact-Finding Committee will comprise of the members from Provincial Human Rights Vigilance Committee, Human Rights Department AyubKhoso, Tariq Khattak, SamtraManjiani (Tharparker) and Noor JehanGehalro (Umerkot). AyubKhoso will be the head of the Committee. NNI
