Hoist Daesh flag if you have no respect for Pakistani laws: Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD, March 14: The Supreme Court (SC) has observed that departments hoisting Pakistani flags should also respect them. The court also said that laws should be implemented. If Pakistani laws are not to be implemented its better to hoist Daesh flag, instead.
A two-member SC bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed gave these remarks after the home secretary sought three month’s time to shift offices of Islamabad and Motorway Inspectors-General (IGs) offices from residential areas of Islamabad.
“Are Pakistani laws not applicable to IGs. If Pakistani flags are hoisting in their offices, then Pakistani laws have to be implemented. If Pakistani laws have not to be implemented, its better Daesh flag is hoisted,” the bench observed. Home and CADD secretaries appeared before the court and pleaded that the court gave them three month’s time to shift office from residential areas. The court observed that the Capital Development Authority chairman submits an affidavit that the offices will be shifted within the stipulated time. The court observed that everyone was obeying the law but those who have to implement the law themselves were not obeying the law. Additional Attorney General appeared before the court and said that the Islamabad IG office will be shifted to Police Lines and Motorway IG ofice to the immigration department. The CDA counsel Shahid Hamid told the court that the civic agency has shifted many embassies from residential areas and closed guest houses. “These problems have been there for the last 15 years and they cannot be sorted out overnight,” he said. Upon this, the court replied, “you are wasting the court time. Some gains on the issue should have been made”. Lawyer Aslam Khaki appeared in the court and said that a had been allocated for F-8 Katchery, however, the Islamabad High Court ‘grabbed’ the land. He also told the court that the Federal Investigation Agency has also occupied a vast swath of land in the residential area and it should also be directed to vacate the land.
