ISLAMABAD, April 10: On the special direction of Administrator MCI/ Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat under the supervision of Chief Metropolitan Officer Capt (Retd) Syed Ali Asghar MCI, Directorate of Sports Culture and Tourism CDA/MCI organized MCI Night Boxing Tournament. According to Focal Person MCI Dr. M. Abdullah Tabassum, more than 200 boxers including world champion boxer Muhammad Waseem participated in the boxing tournament. Competitions were held in different weight categories in which special competitions for girls were conducted. Gold medalist Fajar Fatima in 30 kg females, gold medalist Kainat in 40 kg females and in School boys 30 kg Imam Ali gold medalist, 34 kg Bilal Khan, 38 kg Sudis Khan and 57 kg MazharFayyaz in elite weight gold medalist, 71 kg Irfan Khan, 75 kg Rafi Niazi and 91+ kg M Ali. Position holders were awarded cash prizes, medals, trophies and other prizes. The boxers appreciated the initiative of the Directorate of Sports Culture and Tourism CDA / MCI and called for such activities. World Boxing Champion Muhammad Waseem congratulated Administrator MCI / Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Director of Directorate of Sports Culture and Tourism AamirShehzad and his entire team and stressed the need to showcase boxing talent. Such competitions and events should be organized to bring in new talent and these young boxers can make the country famous in the world.
