There was certainly a need on the part of former prime minister to light a fire under those who had been trying mega corruption cases of the big gun .Since lethargy was shown in the trial of mega corruption cases and the Prosecution dealt them in a very cavalier manner neither the looted amount could be recovered from them nor they were given just deserts with the result that Imran Khan has been put in a very embarrassing position today by his political adversaries who have now audacity to say that had there been truth in the cases against them they would have been convicted.
The chasm of hatred between the apologists and detractors of Imran khan is widening by the day .Though general elections provide the only way out to end political uncertainty in the country, the six million dollar question is this: would the government and the opposition agree on electoral reforms before the polls? Would the much tom -tom med electronic machine be introduced or the old voting system would continue to be used in the elections has the government and the opposition worked out a fool proof electoral system under which gerry mandendering would be impossible.These questions need to be addressed seriously at once.
