President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with the elders of the Organization of Turkic States (Council of Elders OTS).
Having greeted the guests, the Kyrgyz president noted what an important place of honor the elders occupy in society and the state. Their authority is indisputable and the course of history is determined by their influence.
Sadyr Zhaparov stressed with satisfaction the importance of the Council of Elders in the era of globalization and the loss of many peoples of their original identity. In his opinion, by turning to the wisdom of the elders, the participating states will be able to turn the Organization into one of the strongest associations in the world so that future generations proudly carry the flag of this Organization.
The president noted that the Council of Elders is an important deliberative body, to which the Council of Heads of State listens and relies on. As part of its activities, the Council of Elders of the OTS initiated important decisions that enriched the work of the OTS, for example, the symbols of this organization were approved – this is a flag and logo, the Turkic World Prize, the Union of Turkic World Universities were established, a common textbook on the history of the Turkic world is being prepared, on which young generations will be brought up.
During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov recalled that in two months it is planned to hold the fourth World Nomad Games in Turkey, initiated by Kyrgyzstan. Now the Kyrgyz side is actively preparing to take part in these Games, both in the sports part and in the cultural direction, with an emphasis on popularizing the Kyrgyz culture, life, traditions and art.
In turn, the elders, thanking the head of state for the warm welcome, noted the great contribution of Sadyr Zhaparov to the development of the Organization. They got acquainted with the main activities of the Council of Elders of the OTSand emphasized the existence of great potential between the countries for further interaction.
As a result of the meeting, the participants came to a common opinion on the need to intensify political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the Turkic-speaking states.
During the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov awarded Binali Yildirim, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, with the Danaker Order for his great contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkiye.
The meeting was attended by elders from Kyrgyzstan (Medetkan Sherimkulov), Azerbaijan (Gasan Aziz oglu Hasanov), Kazakhstan (Ikram Adyrbekov), Turkey (Binali Yildirim), Uzbekistan (Bakhtiyor Saifullaev), Turkmenistan (Rejep Bazarov), as well as the General UTC secretary – Baghdad Amreev.
The Council of Elders is a recommendatory body and consists of the elders of the member countries of the Organization, appointed from among authoritative citizens (former prime ministers, ministers, deputies, ambassadors). Kyrgyzstan is represented in the Council by ex-Speaker of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Medetkan Sherimkulov. – Kabar
