ISLAMABAD, March 31: Veteran PPP leader Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan questioned the motives of four-day sit-in staged by religious groups in Islamabad.
Was it a conspiracy by younger brother (Shabaz Sharif) against elder brother (Nawaz Sharif)? How was it possible that Punjab administration allowed the demonstrators to walk 14 kilometers on foot and reach the Parliament House, he said.
The PPP leader demanded that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar brief the Parliament about the sit-in.
The four-day sit-in came to an end on Wednesday after a 7-point verbal agreement with the government.
Although Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali denied striking any agreement, Khaawja Saad Rafique, a member of government’s negotiation team, said that there was nothing unconstitutional in the deal. -NNI
