RAWALPINDI, January 6: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday reiterated zero-tolerance for terrorist organisations and directed the military officials to continue efforts until prevalence of sustainable peace and security in the country.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) said this while presiding over the Corps Commander Conference, held at General Headquarters today, said a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Apart from discussing matters of professional interest, the participants of the conference had a detailed review of overall internal and external security situation in the country, emerging geostrategic environment and its relevance to Pakistan.
The top military leadership was also briefed in detail about prevailing and emerging threats, ongoing  operations of security/intelligence agencies for breaking the nexus between terrorists and their support mechanism across the country, said the statement.
Speaking to the forum, the COAS expressed his complete satisfaction over progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army.
“COAS paid rich tributes to officers and men involved in operation for their sacrifices and successes.”
While lauding recent phenomenal successes of Security/Intelligence agencies in Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) for breaking the terror nexus across the country, Gen Raheel reiterated zero-tolerance for terrorist organisations and directed all concerned to continue focused efforts “till we achieve sustainable peace and security”.
