ISLAMABAD, August 23: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday has summoned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Aug 31 in contempt of court case.
A larger bench of the IHC headed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani initiated proceedings against the PTI Chairman on his statement targeting the Additional Sessions Judge during PTI rally. The Advocate General Islamabad Jahangir Jadoon appeared before the court and argued that Imran Khan has threatened a judge with name in a public gathering.
The court termed the objectionable remarks made by the former Prime Minister as an attempt to defame the judiciary of the entire country. In this regard, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that people have faith in the courts and it’s a contempt of court case. – DNA
