The generation before mine and before the ones of my parents, we might have a million differences, but we have all shared a common dream. We have all lived in the same hope, and we have all prayed for this common dream. And that dream is a dream of a Better Pakistan. A Pakistan that is prosperous and is thriving to achieve its full potential
I know for a fact that this is a dream every Pakistani has in common.
Now, when you dream of something, what are the chances of making that dream come to reality? By hoping? Yes that’s good, praying is even better. But what makes it even more viable to transform it into a reality? The likelihood of accomplishing a dream is pretty grim, unless we make it into a goal.
Imagine if each and every individual made their dream into a goal, and then worked towards getting to that goal? It gives me goosebumps thinking about the glorious results.
I know that this ideological debate is going on since as long as the birth of any idea. In the absence of a clear direction, a great idea can amount to nothing. In the same vain some might argue, that in the absence of unification of a common goal we might never achieve it. But I believe if the main goal is the same and we individually work towards achieving it, we might be able to close the gap.
However, I do agree that we need to unify on the platform of this common goal. In order for us to get there, we need to head in the same direction as a nation. Collaboratively. Unfortunately Pakistan has not seen a leadership that has ever unified us. Bhutto lost focus when he came into power. And the leaders apart from him had their own agendas. Now we have Imran Khan, you can criticize him as much as you want, but you cannot deny that he is a hardcore die hard Pakistani and he has untied the whole nation. The youth of Pakistan, the farmer, the trader, the veterans, the laureates, the aristocrats the bureaucrats, Imran Khan tapped into every circle. He has done it, because he talks about everyone’s dreams. Each and every single Pakistani wants what he wants.
But then, is this enough? I see very little to no hope in the current system allowing Imran Khan to be the top man of Pakistan. Even if he wins the election in 2018, how long does he have to work for Pakistan? There is no two arguments about his commitment and perseverance as a Pakistani. He might be the most powerful leader for the Pakistanis. But then what? Does it all end with him?
I was listening to one of the cricketers in a TV show saying how Imran Khan made him into the cricketer that he was. He developed him, motivated him, and made him into a champion. There are men who played in Imran Khan’s team who have been marked by his leadership
I sincerely believe that Imran Khan should focus on developing the future leaders of Pakistan. Along with his continuous and relentless efforts to transform Pakistan into the Pakistan of our dreams, he should make sure that he leaves his legacy behind by shaping and making a fleet of future leaders for Pakistan. What we need is an organization under his leadership whose goal is to develop young minds. Students, Entrepreneurs, Sports people, businesses, universities, NGOs, he should have a network of people and local bodies working under him to dispense his idea of leadership to every nook and cranny of Pakistan.
There are millons of us who have the intention of bringing a change in our contry, but we lack the opportunity. People who have the skill set to gather and direct such immense human resource and passion into the right direction should collaborate and make this into a legacy.
We need future leaders to make sure that we don’t fall further down as a nation. If someone is listening! Please act on this.
