SRINAGAR, April 3: The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Geelani, has strongly denounced the thrashing of Kashmiri students at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar by the students belonging to different parts of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian students had beaten up the Kashmiri students after the latter celebrated West Indies’ victory over India in the semi-final of the World T20.
Syed Ali Geelani in a statement issued in Srinagar warned the occupation authorities that incidents like the one took place in the NIT would have serious consequences on the ground situation if the same continued to reoccur in the future.
“People will take every possible step to ensure the safety and security of their children,” he stated. The APHC Chairman asked New Delhi to introspect why Kashmiris celebrated India’s defeat on streets. “He pointed out that attack on the Kashmiri students vindicated Hurriyet leaders’ apprehensions that under the garb of technical educational and health institutions India had evil designs only to strength its illegal occupation and change the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir.-Online
