MUMBAI: Actor Lisa Haydon has said that her USP lies in her unconventional looks and sultry accent, which she has never considered to be hindrances for her career. Her statement was in response to being asked if her unique appearance restricted the roles available to her in Bollywood.
“I don’t necessarily feel that way about it. Whatever I am is my USP. I don’t consider any of my attributes hindrance. I feel everyone has got their own journey, to be honest.” The model-turned-actor – who made her debut with the 2010’s Aisha – had a career-defining moment with Vikas Bahl’s Queen, wherein she portrayed a free-spirited Parisian single mom. She later on went on to star in The Shaukeens as well. When asked why she had not been seen more on the big screen more, Lisa claimed, “I think you pick from what you get offered. I don’t necessarily get offered all the roles that other actors get and I pick from what I get offered.”
Nonetheless, the dusky beauty has some interesting Bollywood projects lined up, including the Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 3 and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. According to Lisa, working with Karan is the best thing that has happened to her so far. “I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. It was definitely, possibly my favourite experience on set working with him. It’s a very small role, but probably the best working experience I have had so far,” she shared.
Other than this, Lisa is also gearing up for her next release Santa Banta Pvt Ltd, which stars Vir Das, Boman Irani and Neha Dhupia in lead roles.
Acting does not, however, stop Lisa from returning to fashion world, as she was recently the show-stopper for Indian designer Monisha Jaising. She has gone from being just another model a show-stopper now but Lisa claims there has not been much of a change. “I am now wearing the last outfit when, earlier, it was the middle outfit. I feel very much the same about it. I still feel that I am modelling for a particular outfit and I enjoy doing it and love it too,” she said.
