Lahore, January 8: The captain of Pakistan’s One-Day International (ODI) team Azhar Ali has said that the the pink ball is not comfortable to play as there is visibility problem and they will need some more time to adjust with it in this part of the world.
Pakistan’s domestic cricket final (Quaid-e-Azam Trophy) was played with pink ball and Azhar Ali scored a match winning fifty in the second innings against United Bank Limited (UBL) but he said that the climate was hazy so ball was easily visible.
Azhar Ali, who is also a very important member of Pakistan’s test squad, said that the ball maybe better visible in clear enviroments like Australia but here the weather in winter does not allow the pink ball to be seen clearly.
The ODI Captain said that he is open for new experiments in the future as such things make the game of cricket interesting. The ball also lost the colour when it got older so that was another reason why it was not clearly visible.
Ali also said that the fielders faced this problem as it was not easy to catch and spot the ball in the dard. He also said that the batsmen also faced difficulty because in the night ball swung more then it normally does because of the moisture.
