ISLAMABAD, April 8: The Election Commission of Pakistan refused to register the newly formed Pak Sarzameen Party led by former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal on Friday, calling their application incomplete. Officials at the ECP claim that the application filed by Kamal does not comply by the rules put down by the Party Registration Act. The application neither states the party agenda nor its manifesto. The application declares that the party will generate income from funds, an ECP official said on the condition of anonymity.
The official further said that the application does not declare the party assets or details of its members.
Sources told Geo News that Kamal mentions his name as party chairman in the application.
The ECP has written a letter to Kamal demanding that he reapply for registration.-Agencies
