PARC, CEC ink MoU for promotion of solar-cum-gas fired fruit dryer

ISLAMABAD, April 10: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and M/s Capital Engineering Corporation (CEC) Islamabad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Promotion of Solar-cum Gas Fired Fruit Dryer here at PARC headquarters.
According to MoU, the scientists of Agricultural Engineering Division (AED) of PARC will design and develop a solar dryer and provide prototype and technical assistance to Capital Engineering Corporation for manufacturing of the solar dryer. After manufacturing this dryer, the PARC scientists will test it in the field and on successful performance it will be recommended for commercialization in the country. This solar dryer will be used for drying of fruits, vegetables and fish in order to enhance the shelf-life of these products.
The MoU was signed by Muhammad Tariq, Secretary PARC and Moazzam Ali Toor, CEC whereas Dr. Nadeem Amjad, Chairman PARC, Dr. Munir Ahmad, Chief Scientist & DG (AED) PARC, Rubina Safir, Member (Finance) PARC, Dr. Shahid Rafique, Member (ASD), Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, DG (PR&P), Dr. Falak Naz, Director (National Coordination), Dr. Sajid Mustafa, Director (PGRI) NARC and other senior officers of both organizations witnessed the ceremony. The MoU will be valid for a period of three years.-PR
