ISLAMABAD, April 12: Jobs are being offered to hundreds of youth trained under National Vocational & Technical Training Commission, both nationally and internationally. Donors and the organizations providing assistance for employment must come forward and help to ensure employability to the skilled youth on priority basis. This was said by the Executive Director of NAVTTC, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, during a meeting of donors and foreign experts on vocational training.He told the participants that a Job Placement Center has been recently established at NAVTTC Headquarters which is being operated through a website. The list of skilled youth across the country along with their complete details is placed on this website. The data is shared with both national and international experts and employers that is a big step towards guaranteeing jobs to hundreds of trained youth. He further added that we are receiving huge workforce demand particularly from Middle East and Europe in the trades of Construction, IT, Heavy machinery operators, Guards and Hospitality.
In this meeting, several reforms for implementation of Competency Based Training (CBT) and imparting state of the art training to the youth in the demand driven marketable trades were thoroughly discussed. The donors and foreign experts appreciated NAVTTC’s initiative of establishing Job Placement Center and organizing skill competitions across the country and assured their full cooperation in revitalizing the current training system.-PR
