It should be noted that the position fell vacant after Waqar Younis stepped down as the team’s head coach following the side’s poor show in this year’s Asia Cup Twenty20 and World T20.
Sources said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had advertised the opening of the team’s head coach but foreigners are being preferred.
Members of coach selection committee Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram have been given the green signal by the cricketing board to finalize the deal with Tom Moody. The trio is currently in India for the Indian Premier League (IPL).The former Australian cricketer served as Sri Lanka’s head coach from 2005 to 2007. The side managed to qualify for the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 in his coaching.
