NEW YORK, April 15: Pakistan permanent representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi has said that Pakistan’s commitment for elimination of terrorism was categorical as it was ahead of countries in its war against terrorism.
She made it clear that allegations against Pakistan harbouring terrorists or lack of commitment against eliminating terrorism were unfounded.
“Pakistan’s resolve for eradication of terrorism is categorical and very clear. Pakistan is ahead of all countries in war on terror. The whole world is convinced to our role in fighting terrorism. The allegations being levelled against Pakistan for having taken insuuficient counter-terrorism measure are baseless. These charges are harming Pakistan’s cooperation with the world in curbing the menace. The international community should unite for complete elimination of terrorism. The international community will have to go hand in hand with Pakistan for taking effective against terrorists”, she said while taking part in a debate at the UN Security Council.
She underlined that Pakistan had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in war against terrorism and it has achieved a remarkable success in counter terrorism drive. Pakistan has contained the looming threat of terrorism through this campaign. -Online
