- Says Commission, govt was trying to constitute, was a complete eyewash and won’t serve any purpose
ISLAMABAD, April 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has returned back in Islamabad after London visit and has said that unbiased inquiry of Panama leaks could change fate of this country.
Speaking to reporters at his Bani Gala residence Imran Khan reiterated his demand for establishment of a high-powered serving chief justice-led judicial commission to probe the Panama Papers leaks featuring alleged offshore assets of Sharif family.
“Isn’t it a joke that Prime Minister’s daughter constitutes a commission? This commission is set up to come out clean in the scandal… If the government is really Continued on page 7

sincere, it should constitute a body under Chief Justice of Pakistan,” Khan said.
Khan vowed to continue struggle for formation of an unbiased commission. He dubbed formation of a govt-led commission an act of “making a deal”. He announced to go to any extent for transparent probe of Panama leaks.
Sole purpose of commission formed by the government is to acquit the leaders of allegations, he added.
He warned the government of strong protest if a commission led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) is not formed to probe the leaks against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “We will move to any extent if our demand’s not met peacefully,” warned the PTI chairman. Imran Khan said the commission government was trying to constitute was a complete eyewash and won’t serve any purpose.
He believes that the nation’s fate could be changed with fair investigation into Panama Papers. He claimed that PM’s daughter was trying to form a commission that aimed to hide tax evasion among the ruling elite.
However, PTI chief also prayed for better health of the prime minister and hoped he would soon return to the country.-Sabah
