Preston University grabs 1st position in inter-university drama competition

ISLAMABAD, April 21: Preston University organised an inter-university drama competition. The referenced competition was organized as part of the university’s ongoing mega annual event ‘Spring Splash 2016’. Theme of the Drama Competition was “Libastan Hai Mayar Mera”. Eminent TV/Film actress and TV host Noor was the chief guest on the occasion. Wali Hamid Khan, popular singer/actor was the guest of honor. The competition was adjudicated by renowned actor/writer/director, Khalid Siddiqui, Muhammad Aslam Mughal, actor/writer and Afzaal Latifi actor of national eminence.
The students of the participating universities enthralled the exuberant audience comprising of students, staff and faculty of Preston University and other distinguished guests by their outstanding acting prowess. The scintillating performances of the participating teams made it extremely difficult for the judges of the competition to determine the first, second and third positions. Performance of the team of Preston University, Islamabad was adjudged as best by the judges and was awarded first position. Second best performance was that of the team of Sarhad University, Peshawar which was awarded second position in the competition. The team of Abasyn Universitty, Islamabad stood third.
In her brief comments on occasion, chief guest Noor, eminent TV host and TV/Film actress said the acting prowess of the students of the participating universities was truly outstanding.
In his brief remarks on the occasion, Chancellor Preston University, Dr. Abdul Basit said that the acting abilities of the students who participated in the inter-university drama competition were undoubtedly remarkable.
Later, awards were distributed among the teams which had won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions by the chief guest Ms. Noor. Certificates of participation were also given to all members of the teams of the participating universities.-PR
