Imran stated that the country is heading towards downfall instead of improving, adding that democracy in the country is heading backwards instead of moving forward. He said that he never thought of joining politics as he was not good at delivering speeches in the beginning.
He said that God blessed him more than he could have imagined. “I was afraid that what might I answer to God when I meet him (after dying)”, he said. Khan said that he could have spent a better life by becoming a cricket analyst and staying away from politics.
PTI chief said that he is thankful to those who stand with him today adding that it was decided to make Pakistan as an Islamic welfare state but the minorities in the country are not being respected. He said that he is deeply disturbed with the assasination of Soran Singh as Singh decided to stay in Pakistan despite the fact that his wife and children shifted to India. Khan said that the minorities of the country must be respected and given safety in the country.
Imran Khan said that he did not achieve any seats in the first elections it took part in however it was able to secure one seat in the second elections it was a part of. He said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif at first decided to boycott the elections of 2008 but then abruptly shifted from his stance.
He said that he requested PM Nawaz to investigate 4 constituencies in regards to electoral irregularities, adding that rigging was proved in all four of the constituencies.
Referring towards the Panama Leaks investigation, Khan inquired from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers that “is PML-N a political party or is sub-ordinate to a monarch?”. He said that PM Nawaz will have to speak the truth as evidence is there against him in regards to corruption, he demanded that investigation of the matter should be carried out by the Chief Justice. He added that he is hopeful that the PM will make a decision regarding the Panama Leaks investigation prior to the initiation of the Raiwind march .
He said that attempts are being made to tarnish the image of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. He stated that rich in the country are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer as the latter are the ones paying the taxes.
