SRINAGAR, April 25: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has urged Pakistan to pursue European Union, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other world forums to play their role in securing Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Pakistan must seek the assistance of European Union, OIC, and other world powers to pressurise India to stop grave human rights violations being perpetrated by its forces and resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute.”
He appealed to the people to strengthen the Hurriyet Conference and said that freedom movement could be taken to its logical conclusion with unity. He maintained that people of Jammu Kashmir had not sacrificed their lives for material gains but for the right to self-determination.
Hailing Pakistan for its political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, Shabbir Ahmad Shah expressed the hope that Islamabad would continue its support to the Kashmir cause.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has warned India and its puppet administration of forceful agitation against any attempt to settle non-locals in the shelters being built in the name of homeless people. The APHC at a meeting, presided over by Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi in Srinagar Monday, said that India was conspiring to sabotage the Muslim identity of Jammu and Kashmir by changing its demography. It said that the construction of shelters was part of this plan.-KMS
