KARACHI, April 30: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Amir Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has said that ‘Jihad’ against corruption is the need of the hour and made it clear that the JI does not want to derail the democracy or democratic process but is determinant to eliminate corruption from the society.
He expressed these views on Saturday after inaugurating a camp, held for a signature campaign against corruption. The camp was established by JI Youth Wing at Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
Siraj launched the campaign while imposing his signature and said that a strong message would be delivered to all segments of the society with the signature of millions of individuals that corruption is no more acceptable for common men of Pakistan.
A large number of people showed their interest in the campaign and imposed their signature. Free flow of traffic on all roads was ensured on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that corruption has become gangrene for the society as individuals from the ruling class to the grass root level of the society have been indulged in corrupt practices.
Terming corruption as root cause of all evils in the society, he said that 200 million of Pakistani children are out of schools, masses are deprived of basic health facilities only due to this curse.
He was of the firm view that not only excessive burden of foreign loans can be eliminated but also the destiny of prosperity can be achieved, if the corruption is eliminated in the country.-Online
