- Says govt acquired loans amounting to at least Rs 4,700 billion in a span of two & a half years
PESHAWAR, January 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that the federal government pocketed $11 billion by not reducing oil prices in accordance with the international market. He said the government acquired loans amounting to at least Rs. 4,700 billion in a span of two and a half years; however, none know where the funds were spent.
PTI Chairman on Monday inaugurated Bab-e- Peshawar flyover, a mega project of KPK government for Peshawar city. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Parvez Khan Khattak and Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq and others were present on the occasion. Officials said the 2.12 kilometres long flyover has been constructed in six months time and with the cost of Rs.1.75 billion.

completed with the cost of Rs 1.7 billion rupees and in the time of six months. He said KPK should be given due share in funds of federation. He said this kind of projects could be established in whole KP but the problem is shortage of funds.
He said the government has earned $11 billion due to decrease in oil prices at international market during the last two years. He said the government has taken Rs. 4700 billion rupees as loan during the two and half years, adding that the total loan of Pakistan’s history was Rs. 5000 trillion prior to current government. Imran said the question is where this money has gone. He said this is money of whole country. He said no one knows about the accountability of this money.
He said when the petroleum prices are increased all Pakistanis pay this money but when the prices are decreased it benefited to the government.
He said that the whole country could connect through China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), adding that the CPEC is big project for Pakistan. He said that the federation will be strengthened if the Western Route of CPEC is completed. He said if the shortest Western Route is complete then the poor people of western areas would become prosperous.
Imran said that every prime minister of the country should speak truth in front of people and he should be honest person. He said Nawaz Sharif lied regarding construction of Western Route. He said the leader also do justice with all people.
He said eastern route was being constructed instead of Western Route. Imran congratulated Parvez Khattack for raising voice against not working on Western Route.
He said the metro and flyovers are also necessary but the nation could not raise with these works, adding that the nation rise when the money is spent on human development. He said Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia have processed when these countries made investment on the education, health and justice. He said the education is the future of the country.
Imran khan said now he will focus on the hospitals. He said the people will see difference in hospitals of KPK in six months, adding that management system of the hospitals would be changed and government hospitals will be able to compete with private hospitals.
He said until and unless peace is not established then the nation could not become prosperous. He said the performance of KPK police is in front of masses, adding that 60 percent crimes have come down in Peshawar in last one year. He said the police of KPK have been made depoliticized. “I commend CM KPK for taking up the CPEC issue and would also congratulate him on the inauguration of this fly over,” Khan said, adding that “development of roads and flyovers is also important, but our number one priority is education and health in KPK.”-Sabah
