LAHORE ,May 2: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi hasheld Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the food poisoning deaths in Layyah.
He was talking to media here on Monday. He said that if 200-bed hospital in Layyah and trauma centre in Fatehpur, established by our government were made functional by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, precious lives could have been saved.
He said the trauma centre was completed at a cost of Rs 18 crore for four districts of South Punjab including Layyah under our govt’s Trauma Centre Hospital Scheme.
Elahi said under this scheme four ambulances were also to be provided to the centre so that lives of the effected persons of the accidents could be saved but Shahbaz Sharif stopped more work on it. He said gift of 200 beds medical centre given by our government keeping in view the deprivations of people of Layyah and adjoining areas was not made functional by the present government only because it was established by us.
He said its building is complete but so far doctors, para-medical staff and machinery have not been provided there due to which effected people of Fatehpur incident could not be provided timely medical treatment, they became victim of the vindictive attitude of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif one after the other. -Online
