Naela Quadri Baloch, is an activist, who is self-styled president of the World Baloch Women Forum. She is in India for some time and using Indian media to spread venom against Pakistan, while promoting banned Baloch organizations. In her article carried by the Times of India, Naela Quadri Baloch blamed the Nawaz Sharif-led government of genocide against Balochis, and sought India’s intervention in Balochistan. Recently, she gave a lengthy interview to Times of India and while speaking with Aarti Tikoo Singh, Naela Baloch distorted the history accusing that Pakistan ‘seized’ Balochistan, many Baloch people have been killed, and 25000 people including women and children are missing. It is abundantly clear from her conjectures and lies that she speaks RAW’s language, which is apparently a response to the arrest of RAW terrorist and spy Kulbushan Yadav. Earlier, she was in Chahbahar having contacts the Indian consulates in Iran and Afghanistan and working as per Indian designs.
The question is what Naela Quadri Baloch is doing in India? Apart from promoting cause of the leaders of banned Baloch organizations, she appears to be a liaison between Indian RAW and the Baloch dissidents, and unarguably conduit for providing funds to those who are in self-exile, and also those who continue with insurgency in Balochistan. She had denied having any information about alleged Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent Kulbhushan Yadav, whom Pakistan claimed to have arrested from Balochistan. “It’s a lie, we don’t know from where they have arrested him (Kulbhushan Yadav), and they’re showing that it was from Pakistan,” she said. Anyhow, in her interview, she passed derogatory remarks against founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam. But what one can expect from the traitors and alien agents. She had also referred to American Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and others as supporters of Balochistan.
She also said: “It is freedom struggle; we were occupied by Pakistan on March 27, 1948 and ever since we have been fighting against Pakistan to free ourselves. Balochistan was never a part of India or Iran or Afghanistan or any other country. Balochistan was always independent. So an independent country was occupied.” To a question as to how Balochistan’s freedom struggle is different from the separatist movement in Kashmir, she said: “Kashmir was never a country; it was a princely state under a Maharaja. Kashmir was always a part of greater India. Instrument of accession was offered to princely states. Balochistan was not a princely state; it was an independent country.” Sometime back, another supporter of Baloch dissidents, Waseem Altaf had written an article under the title ‘Accession at gunpoint’, which was carried among others by Viewpoint Online.
As the title suggested the author believed that Balochistan’s accession was sought by Pakistan under duress. The treatise was informative in many ways, but it was an amalgam of facts and fiction. He wrote: “During British Raj Balochistan did not enjoy the status of a province but comprised four princely states namely: Makran, Kharan, Lasbela and Kalat,” which is in contradiction to Naela Quadri’s conjectures. It is an established fact that the northern areas of Balochistan including Bolan Pass, Quetta, Nushki and Naseerabad were leased out to Britain, which were later named as British Balochistan. However, more importantly, the Khan had agreed with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that an understanding must be reached between Kalat and Pakistan on Defense, Foreign Affairs and Communications. It has to be mentioned that Khan of Kalat was head of a small tribe namely Brohi, who had assured that nobody would create problems for the British.
It was in this backdrop that he was made nominal head of the Confederacy by the British, which was more of a norm to extend its influence in the region and elsewhere. There are many myths about Balochistan and the one of them is that Balochistan was never part of undivided India. Secondly, that it had a special status vis-à-vis other princely states of undivided India. At the time of partition of India, Viceroy Lord Mountbatten addressing the Darbar of princely states had declared that suzerainty of the Crown had ended, and advised them to joint India or Pakistan keeping in view the interests of the people and geographical contiguity. Though in the Partition Plan of 3rd June 1947, the principle of the division of the subcontinent was laid down that Muslim majority areas were to become Pakistan and Hindu majority would form India, yet Lord Mountbatten ignored this principle with regard to accession of many Princely States especially Kashmir. Naela Baloch also grossly exaggerated the figures of missing persons and she quoted figure of 25000 which is a lot more than what Mama Qadeer has been claiming. Pakistan had established a judicial commission headed by justice (retired) Javed Iqbal, had finalized a 204-page report, which was later handed over to the Supreme Court. The commission stated that “a total of 621 persons went missing while 359 persons have been recovered so far. It was also observed that the recovered persons were not sharing complete information due to fear, adding that some of them belonged to extremist groups. Most of the purported missing persons had reportedly links with different terrorist organizations, and due to fear of being arrested moved to far-flung areas of KPK/Balochistan. In addition, some unarguably shifted to Afghanistan and other countries to permanently settle there. Most of them are not in contact with their families, who perceive them as missing persons.
Apart from that, some of the terrorists while conducting ambushes against LEAs were killed during action. In many cases dead bodies are taken away by their accomplices, who probably burry them at unknown places. The families are not informed about their deaths, who consider them under custody of intelligence agencies. Suicide bombers and unidentified persons who die during suicide attacks cannot be recognized or accounted for. In fact, the issue had been blown out of proportions since the time Pakistan gave management and control of Gwadar Port to China. India does not like to see Gwadar fully functional, as Balochistan would become economic hub in the region. Dubai and Iran feel that Dubai port and Chahbahar port would lose significance. Since the announcement of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), scores of RAW spies and terrorists have been let loose in the area to sabotage the project.
