- 69534 intending pilgrims were selected through balloting under Govt scheme
ISLAMABAD May 5: Computerized balloting of Hajj applications under Government Scheme held in Islamabad on Thursday.
Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf pressed the button to trigger the process of balloting at a ceremony in the presence of media-persons and members of the civil society.
In all, two hundred eighty thousand six hundred and seventeen applications were received last month against quota of seventy-one thousand six hundred eighty-four under the Government Hajj Scheme.
69534 intending pilgrims were selected through balloting on Thursday while remaining 2150 cases would be decided against hardship quota of new born children, labour and broken families.
Under instructions of the Prime Minister, the hardship quota has further been divided on provincial basis.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Religious Affairs said successful applicants can get information from Ministry website .
The applicants would also receive information through SMS on their given mobile phone numbers. Successful applicants will also be informed through formal letters.
The successful applicants are required to submit their machine readable passports, valid till March next year to the concerned branch of the bank by 15th of this month, otherwise they would be treated as unsuccessful.-NHT Report
