ISLAMABAD, May 10: Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Law and Justice while addressing at a seminar organized by NAB at National Library said that the father of nation Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in his address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan had termed “corruption as a poison” which needed to be put down with an iron hand.
He said that corruption is not only a vice in its own right but it also triggers a chain reaction and leads to injustice and mistrust. He said corruption has rightly been labelled as mother of all ills. It gives birth to multifarious problems including nepotism and favouritism. It negates meritocracy, transparency and accountability. He said that the role of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is very important in eradication of corruption from the country.
Imtiaz Tajwar, Acting Chairman NAB said that NAB under the leadership of Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB is committed to eradicate corruption by using all its resources across the board by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy. He said that NAB’s operational methodology has set three stages for proceeding of cases complaint verification, inquiry and investigation. Earlier, Zahir Shah, DG NAB Rawalpindi Bureau highlighted the performance of NAB Rawalpindi which was appreciated by all the participants.-PR
