The other day I posted an advertisement for ONE NATION MOVEMENT which was constituted of only two sentences but embodied all that Islam stands for.

For the convenience of my readers I am re-producing here the two sentences mentioned above.

  • It is not the Will of God that power be hereditary and deprivation be hereditary; that wealth be hereditary, and poverty be hereditary; that the right to govern be hereditary and the fate to be ruled be hereditary; that health be hereditary and disease be hereditary; and that the privilege to get into a worthy school be hereditary and the inability to earn rightful education be hereditary.
  • ONE NATION MOVEMENT is being launched to wage a war against all that is against the Will of God.

These two sentences are intended to reflect the sprit behind this endeavour the idea of which has been gaining roots in my mind for decades during which I have been associated with the political scene of my beloved homeland in my capacity as both a journalist and an adman. I have interacted extensively with three key personalities of our political history— Air Marshal (Rtd) Asghar Khan, the late Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the PTI Chairman Imran Khan. With the last mentioned I worked quite dedicatedly in the four years preceding the 2013 elections when I realized that Pakistan, inorder to become the embodiment of the vision of its founding fathers (Allama Iqbal and Quaid-i-Azam), needed not a polarizing political party but a uniting ideological movement— a movement designed to reflect and promote the key idea behind the two-nation theory that had triggered the movement for the creation of Pakistan.

The original Father of the two-nation theory was none other than the Prophet of Islam (Peace Be Upon Him) who in his last Haji sermon clearly defined the Nationhood built on the Brotherhood of Islam, and the division of mankind into (a) the believers in the finality of AlQuran as Allah’s last message, and (b) those not falling in this category.

“Allah has prescribed for you Islam as your Deen and your way of life”, the Prophet (PBUH) had declared.

Pakistan happens to be a key component of the Nationhood of Islam.

The Founder of this country in no uncertain terms had said: “Pakistan will be a laboratory in which we will make an honest experiment to bring alive the principles of social justice associated with Islam.”

Meaning thereby that Pakistan simply has to become a Tower of Light and a model of Islamic Statehood for the rest of the Nation of Islam.

ONM is designed to work and fight for that cause not as a political party but as an Ideological movement that will seek to influence all the political parties of the country, and to create a platform for national unity.  (gakbar.pk@gmail.com
